Sticky: What to understand when you get your palm read

Palms, first and foremost, show our present self, and it is important to understand that our fate, that is, the event package likely to interact with us in the future, depends significantly on who we are and what we do. Thus, so to speak, the palm shows the range of future events that shall take place based on our present self. But, wittingly or unwittingly, we change with life: we may end up doing or abstaining from an action, which would bear its own fruits, altering our fate. And hence, once we have a palm reading, we should try to remedy what we think ought to be remedied. Fate is not set in stone—it is dynamic—though some events are harder to budge and some are easier to move, but liable to change they all are. Thus, reading of palms should not be seen as a mere speculative, idle activity, but it should be seen as an activity that can help you understand yourself better, aid you to transform and heal yourself and enable you to see life more holistically. And, thus, if there is some interpretation or prediction from a genuine palmist that does not please you, do not be so disheartened about it: rather, you should be happy that you know it now, you can work towards it and that event may be ‘rubbed off’ from your fate. Reading palms, in fact, can often be experienced as feeling different versions of a person and their life story, which makes a palm reader feel slightly thrilled and dizzy, just like one does reading about parallel universes in a work of science fiction.

Do also note that palmistry is an imperfect science, in that each palmist has to devise some of their own ways in addition to mastering the techniques devised already by previous masters, and while there can be accuracy (i.e., the readings being spot on), it is impossible to prove anything through the test of reproducibility (the cornerstone of modern science) as no one can go through the same fate twice or no two beings can go through the same fate. This, eventually, leads to a lack of standardisation, which in turn means that sometimes the methods devised by the palmist may fail for some people’s palms, notably with regard to timing events. Unless the palmist is able to corroborate some past events with timing seen on hands, it is always difficult to judge time, because timing can differ significantly from hand to hand. Thus, please do not be stressed about some predicted event at a particular age, as the event may occur before or after a few years than the predictions or may never even occur (if some time has elapsed since the time you got them read as hands could have changed). A good palmist, however, does try to be as accurate as possible, trying to judge timing from different corresponding markings in the hand. In any case, after having a reading, one must work towards remedying anything one would like to see different in one’s fate, rather than stress about it, for harping on it would only make that undesired element of fate more certain.

To have this clear understanding that the fate can change is very important for someone who wants to have their palm read. This is why I am putting this post as a sticky.
